DataFrenzy Scrubber
Remove patient and personal details, on your own computer.
The Scrubber replaces names, dates, phone numbers, ID numbers and other identifiers in your emails, spreadsheets, documents and images, following the HIPAA Safe Harbor method. It works offline: your files never leave your computer.
Download
Three steps
- Open the file you downloaded. On a Mac, drag the Scrubber into Applications, then open it and click Open if your Mac asks. On Windows, if a blue “Windows protected your PC” box appears, click More info and then Run anyway; then click Yes when Windows asks to allow the installer, which switches off the Scrubber’s internet access.
- Drop your files or folders into the window, or click Add files. Scrubbing starts on its own.
- Click Save cleaned files and choose where to put them, then send that folder to DataFrenzy.
Requirements: Windows 10 or 11 (64-bit), or macOS 12 or newer; 8 GB of memory (16 GB recommended); about 3 GB of free disk space plus room for a scrubbed copy of your files. The Scrubber is free, open-source software (AGPL-3.0); its complete source code is included inside every download.
