How to see how much data is in athenahealth
- Sign in to athenaOne as an admin
- Open the Report Library
- Run a patient or appointment report for all dates
- Note the number of patients and visits; open a support case if you need document totals
athenaOne has no storage page; record active patient count, years of history and roughly how many scanned documents you have.
How to get a copy of your athenahealth data
- Sign in to athenaOne as a practice admin
- Open the Manage Data Exports workflow
- Choose an export type (EHI, CCDA, clinical chart, or demographic/billing)
- Ask your customer success manager to enable bulk export if needed
- Download the files from Practice Files 2.0
Practice admins use the Manage Data Exports workflow in athenaOne for EHI, CCDA, clinical chart, and demographic or billing exports. You download the files through Practice Files 2.0.
Bulk EHI export isn't turned on by default and must be enabled by your athenahealth customer success manager. Patient data is protected health information.
These instructions are written by DataFrenzy from each vendor’s public help pages. Menu names can vary by plan and change over time; the official link on each guide is the final word. Screenshots come from each vendor’s own help pages and videos or, where noted, from third-party tutorials credited under the image; dashed outlines are illustrations, not screenshots. Looking up a size or preparing an export never sends anything to DataFrenzy.
