How to see how much data is in Drift
- Sign in to Drift as an admin
- Open Reports and set the widest date range available
- Note the total number of conversations
- Open Contacts and note the total number of contacts
Drift has no storage page; record conversation and contact counts, or ask whoever runs the API export for exact totals.
How to get a copy of your Drift data
- Ask a developer or Drift contact to set up API access
- List conversation IDs through the API
- Pull each transcript or message set
- Pull attachments if needed
- Save the results to CSV
Drift doesn't offer a bulk export of all conversations in the app. Conversations, transcripts and attachments have to be pulled through the Drift API, usually by a developer.
Without someone to run the API export, you may only be able to download individual report CSVs, not full chat history.
These instructions are written by DataFrenzy from each vendor’s public help pages. Menu names can vary by plan and change over time; the official link on each guide is the final word. Screenshots come from each vendor’s own help pages and videos or, where noted, from third-party tutorials credited under the image; dashed outlines are illustrations, not screenshots. Looking up a size or preparing an export never sends anything to DataFrenzy.
