How to see how much data is in Egnyte

  1. Sign in to the Egnyte web UI as an administrator
  2. Click the Reports icon on the left
  3. Under Dashboard, select the Storage tab
  4. Note the storage used and the file count

Record total storage used; it includes trash and older file versions, so use the Folder Size Report to see how much is versions.

How to get a copy of your Egnyte data

  1. Sign in to the Egnyte web interface
  2. Select the checkboxes next to the files and folders
  3. Choose Download from the action menu
  4. Choose whether to include all versions and subfolders
  5. Confirm to download the ZIP

Admins can select files or folders in the Egnyte web interface and choose Download. Folders and multiple selections download as a ZIP, with an option to include all versions and subfolders.

There is no single whole-account export button, so large file stores have to be downloaded folder by folder in batches.

Egnyte’s official export instructions

These instructions are written by DataFrenzy from each vendor’s public help pages. Menu names can vary by plan and change over time; the official link on each guide is the final word. Screenshots come from each vendor’s own help pages and videos or, where noted, from third-party tutorials credited under the image; dashed outlines are illustrations, not screenshots. Looking up a size or preparing an export never sends anything to DataFrenzy.
