Data guides
GitHub: see how much data you have, then export it.
Pick a system to see two things: how to check how much data is in it, and how to export a copy. No form, no sign-in.

How to see how much data is in GitHub
- Sign in as an organization owner
- Open the organization's Repositories tab and note how many repositories there are
- Open Settings → Billing and licensing → Usage to see Git LFS storage and other metered storage
- For a repository's own size, ask a developer to clone it and check the folder size
Record repository count and total size including Git LFS; GitHub's web pages do not show each repository's size.
GitHub’s official instructions
How to get a copy of your GitHub data
- Open the repository's main page on github.com
- Click Code above the file list
- Click Download ZIP
- Repeat for each repository (the ZIP has no history; clone the repo to keep history)
Organization owners can request a migration archive through GitHub's migration API, or clone repositories directly.
Issues, discussions, and wiki pages are separate from repository code.
These instructions are written by DataFrenzy from each vendor’s public help pages. Menu names can vary by plan and change over time; the official link on each guide is the final word. Screenshots come from each vendor’s own help pages and videos or, where noted, from third-party tutorials credited under the image; dashed outlines are illustrations, not screenshots. Looking up a size or preparing an export never sends anything to DataFrenzy.
