How to see how much data is in Google Analytics

  1. Sign in to Google Analytics and select the property
  2. Go to Reports → Engagement → Events
  3. Set the date range to the full period you keep
  4. Note the total Event count; check Admin → Data settings → Data retention for how long detail is kept

Record event count and retention period; Analytics shows no storage size, and detailed data older than the retention setting is already gone.

Google Analytics’s official instructions

How to get a copy of your Google Analytics data

  1. Sign in with at least Viewer access
  2. Open a report from the Reports menu
  3. Click Share this report → Download File
  4. Choose CSV or PDF
  5. For raw events, have an Editor link BigQuery under Admin → BigQuery Links

Anyone with Viewer access can download a report as CSV or PDF from the Share this report control. For raw event data, an Editor links BigQuery under Admin → BigQuery Links.

Report downloads stop at 100,000 rows, and BigQuery export only starts on the day you link it. It does not backfill past data.

Google Analytics’s official export instructions

These instructions are written by DataFrenzy from each vendor’s public help pages. Menu names can vary by plan and change over time; the official link on each guide is the final word. Screenshots come from each vendor’s own help pages and videos or, where noted, from third-party tutorials credited under the image; dashed outlines are illustrations, not screenshots. Looking up a size or preparing an export never sends anything to DataFrenzy.
