Data guides
Google Cloud Storage: see how much data you have, then export it.
Pick a system to see two things: how to check how much data is in it, and how to export a copy. No form, no sign-in.

How to see how much data is in Google Cloud Storage
- Sign in to the Google Cloud console and select the project
- Open Monitoring → Metrics explorer
- Select GCS Bucket → Storage → Total bytes (v2)
- Note the size per bucket and add them up
Record total bytes across buckets; the metric updates once a day and skips empty buckets.

How to get a copy of your Google Cloud Storage data
- Open Cloud Storage → Buckets in the Google Cloud console
- Click the bucket name, then find the object on the Objects tab
- Click the Download icon next to each object
- For whole folders or buckets, run: gcloud storage cp --recursive gs://BUCKET_NAME/FOLDER_NAME .
Use gsutil or Storage Transfer Service to copy buckets.
Archive-class storage has retrieval costs and delays.
These instructions are written by DataFrenzy from each vendor’s public help pages. Menu names can vary by plan and change over time; the official link on each guide is the final word. Screenshots come from each vendor’s own help pages and videos or, where noted, from third-party tutorials credited under the image; dashed outlines are illustrations, not screenshots. Looking up a size or preparing an export never sends anything to DataFrenzy.
