iCloud Drive: see how much data you have, then export it.

Pick a system to see two things: how to check how much data is in it, and how to export a copy. No form, no sign-in.

How to see how much data is in iCloud Drive

  1. On iPhone, open Settings → your name → iCloud (on Mac: System Settings → your name → iCloud)
  2. Look at the storage bar at the top
  3. Tap Manage Account Storage (Mac: Manage)
  4. Note the iCloud Drive figure in the list

Record the iCloud Drive amount, not the total plan; folders other people share with you don't count toward your storage, so check each owner's account.

How to get a copy of your iCloud Drive data

  1. Sign in at iCloud.com
  2. Open iCloud Drive
  3. Select the files you want
  4. Click the Download button

Sign in at iCloud.com, open iCloud Drive, select files and click Download. On a Mac you can also copy them from iCloud Drive in the Finder sidebar.

iCloud Drive belongs to each person's Apple Account, so each user has to download their own files, and copies don't keep the sharing settings.

iCloud Drive’s official export instructions

These instructions are written by DataFrenzy from each vendor’s public help pages. Menu names can vary by plan and change over time; the official link on each guide is the final word. Screenshots come from each vendor’s own help pages and videos or, where noted, from third-party tutorials credited under the image; dashed outlines are illustrations, not screenshots. Looking up a size or preparing an export never sends anything to DataFrenzy.
