How to see how much data is in Marketo

  1. Sign in to Marketo Engage
  2. Go to Database
  3. Open the System Smart Lists folder and select All People
  4. Click the People tab and note the total count

Record the total people count (and marketable count); activity history is large but has no size readout.

How to get a copy of your Marketo data

  1. Sign in to Marketo Engage
  2. In Marketing Activities, open the list or Smart List
  3. Go to the People tab and click the Excel icon
  4. Choose All Columns and click Export
  5. Download from List Actions → Show Export Status

In Marketing Activities, open a list or Smart List, go to its People tab, click the Excel icon, and choose Visible Columns or All Columns. The download appears under List Actions → Show Export Status.

The download link only lasts one week. Very large or recurring exports need the Bulk Extract API, which needs technical help.

Marketo’s official export instructions

These instructions are written by DataFrenzy from each vendor’s public help pages. Menu names can vary by plan and change over time; the official link on each guide is the final word. Screenshots come from each vendor’s own help pages and videos or, where noted, from third-party tutorials credited under the image; dashed outlines are illustrations, not screenshots. Looking up a size or preparing an export never sends anything to DataFrenzy.
