Data guides
Odoo: see how much data you have, then export it.
Pick a system to see two things: how to check how much data is in it, and how to export a copy. No form, no sign-in.

How to see how much data is in Odoo
- Sign in to Odoo
- Open each main app list view (e.g. Contacts, Invoicing → Invoices, Sales → Orders) and remove default filters
- Note the total record count shown in the pager at the top right
- For a size figure, open the database manager and download a backup, then check the ZIP size
Odoo shows record counts, not storage; if Download Backup is greyed out in the database manager, the database is too large and Odoo support must provide it.
How to get a copy of your Odoo data
- Open the app and switch to list view
- Select the records to export (or select all)
- Click Action → Export
- Pick the fields and choose CSV or Excel
- Click Export and save the file
Any user can export from a list view: select the records, then Action → Export, and choose the fields you want. Files come out as Excel (.xlsx/.xls) or CSV.
Exports are per model (contacts, invoices, products and so on), and very large exports can time out, so export in smaller batches. Attached files aren't part of the export.
These instructions are written by DataFrenzy from each vendor’s public help pages. Menu names can vary by plan and change over time; the official link on each guide is the final word. Screenshots come from each vendor’s own help pages and videos or, where noted, from third-party tutorials credited under the image; dashed outlines are illustrations, not screenshots. Looking up a size or preparing an export never sends anything to DataFrenzy.
