How to see how much data is in PayPal

  1. Sign in to paypal.com
  2. Open Activity and note how far back your account history goes
  3. Go to Statements and note how many monthly statements are available
  4. Optionally download one year of activity to see the file size

PayPal shows no total count or size; record the years of activity and monthly statements (downloads are limited to 12 months per request).

How to get a copy of your PayPal data

  1. Sign in to your PayPal business account
  2. Go to Activity (History)
  3. Click the Download icon → Custom
  4. Choose the report, a date range up to 12 months, and CSV
  5. Download when ready

On paypal.com, go to Activity (History), click the Download icon → Custom, choose a report, and pick CSV, TAB, PDF, Quicken or QuickBooks. You can go back up to seven years.

Each request covers at most 12 months, so pull a year at a time; large files can take up to 5 business days.

PayPal’s official export instructions

These instructions are written by DataFrenzy from each vendor’s public help pages. Menu names can vary by plan and change over time; the official link on each guide is the final word. Screenshots come from each vendor’s own help pages and videos or, where noted, from third-party tutorials credited under the image; dashed outlines are illustrations, not screenshots. Looking up a size or preparing an export never sends anything to DataFrenzy.
