How to see how much data is in Zendesk
- Sign in to Zendesk Admin Center
- Click Home in the sidebar to see the storage usage summary
- Click View details, or go to Account → Usage → Storage
- Note the data storage, file storage and external content storage used
Record data storage plus file storage used; the dashboard refreshes every 24 hours, can lag up to 72 hours, and is unavailable on legacy self-service accounts.
Zendesk’s official instructions
How to get a copy of your Zendesk data
- Ask Zendesk Support to turn on data exports for your account (they are off by default)
- In Admin Center, click Account → Tools → Reports and open the Export tab
- Under JSON export, pick a date range and Tickets, Users or Organizations, then click Export
- Open Zendesk's email and download the .zip file
Administrators can export tickets, users, and organizations as CSV or JSON from Admin Center → Reports → Export.
Attachments are not included in the ticket export; they need a separate download.
These instructions are written by DataFrenzy from each vendor’s public help pages. Menu names can vary by plan and change over time; the official link on each guide is the final word. Screenshots come from each vendor’s own help pages and videos or, where noted, from third-party tutorials credited under the image; dashed outlines are illustrations, not screenshots. Looking up a size or preparing an export never sends anything to DataFrenzy.
